Weis Not a Fan of Heart-Stopping Finishes

Cheering for old Notre Dame isn't for the faint of heart.
Twice this season, the Fighting Irish have won when all seemed lost. First in scoring 19 points in the fourth quarter against Michigan State.
And then bouncing back when UCLA, leading 17-to-13, stopped Brady Quinn on fourth-and-1 on a quarterback sneak on the UCLA 35-yard line with 2:25 left. The Irish won 20-17 when Quinn threw a 45-yard TD pass to Jeff Samardzija with 27 seconds to go.
Yesterday's win was just the third time Notre Dame has won with a touchdown in the final 30 seconds of a game. Quinn says the nail-biting finish makes it more fun for everyone else to watch.
Everyone except, maybe, coach Charlie Weis.
He says while it's always exciting to win a close game, he'd prefer it not to happen with a heart-stopping finish with only seconds to go.
