Brady Quinn must think his first name is Mighty, and JaMarcus Russell must think Al Davis name will be found under patience. The two poster boys from this year NFL draft are still holding out, still missing valuable practice time. Sometimes dollars don't make sense when it comes to negotiating. Unfortunately I don't feel sorry for Al Davis. Instead of drafting based on needs he goes for the big time marquee names. The Oakland Raiders would have been better off drafting Calvin Johnson. I'm not sold on JaMarcus Russell. He reminds me an awful lot of Dante Culpepper which is both good and bad. Culpepper game was exposed once Randy Moss left Minnesota. It takes some young QB's a long time to read and understand NFL defenses.Playing against SEC competition is not the same as playing against the Broncos, JaMarcus Russell needs to get his self in camp pronto. I wouldn't want to be a raider fan these days. A young QB, 3 questionable backup QB's, a coach who is still wearing pampers, compared to other coaches, and last but not least an owner who most people would say is no longer capable of keeping up with the game. These are not your Madden,Flores Oakland Raiders. This is Lane Kiffin ball, that doesn't even sound right. I'm done with the silver and black moving right along.......
As for Brady Quinn he is missing out on a golden opportunity to seize the job of starting quarterback. The Browns are not in a great position to begin with. The AFC North is brutal. Baltimore added McGahee, Cincinatti will almost certainly turn it up this year, and the Steelers should rebound this year. Consider all the other AFC teams with a chance to make the playoffs this doesn't bode well for Cleveland. Brady Quinn should sign for whatever the going price is for a player chosen in his position and let his on field performance speak for itself. Holdouts is an annual event during NFL training camps but for many players it can be the beginning of the end. Brady Quinn came into the NFL with way too much hype and fanfare, fans will have a bullseye on him from the moment he signs on the dotted line. He needs to become one of the guys on the Browns and get some of that left over Notre Dame attention off of him.Matt Leinart had to quickly adjust from being a cover boy to team leader and Brady Quinn will need to do the same , definitely sooner than later. Browns fans are hungry, and are expecting big things this year.
